Former Fox Sports host Joy Taylor is opening up about a dating experience that left her with an unexpected “ick” and ultimately led her to break things off with a man she’d been seeing for several months.
Taylor, who was recently let go from the network, shared the story during an appearance on the Two Personal podcast, explaining that the awkward red flag surfaced during the pandemic while she was using the exclusive dating app Raya.
The Relationship That Started Strong and Ended Over One Habit
According to Taylor, she dated the man for about four months and initially thought he was a genuinely kind and compatible partner. But one consistent behavior in the bedroom became a deal-breaker.
“He was really nice,” Taylor explained. “He wore… you know those little trackers that track your calories? Like an Apple Watch, but sometimes you wear them on your shoulder.”
The issue? He refused to remove it during sex.
“He kept it on during sex. I couldn’t do it,” she said. “I’m not a big ‘ick’ person, but I was like – ain’t no way you got this sh*t on during sex. Why do you gotta count calories?”
Taylor said the habit was so distracting and so persistent that she eventually ended the relationship entirely.
Social Media Weighs In: Not Everyone Thinks It’s a Deal-Breaker
Taylor’s confession sparked a huge reaction online – and surprisingly, many people admitted they had no issue wearing fitness trackers during intimate moments.
“Exercise ring don’t close itself,” one user joked.
Another shared: “Finished a sesh one night and my watch logged an 11-minute workout. Immediately got a text from a friend I was doing a challenge with that said: ‘Giggity.’”
Some commenters even said the trackers caused awkward misunderstandings.
“I used to, until a family member made a comment about late-night walks I’m taking,” one user revealed, noting that their whole family was connected on the activity app.
Others insisted they’d never seen their watch log any activity at all. “It stays on, but I must be a boring lover because it’s never registered any workout,” one person wrote.
A few took it even further for fun: “I turn it on ‘wrestle’ mode and my friends and I compete for amount burned and time. Great fun.”

Taylor Has Shared Dating Confessions Before
This isn’t the first time Joy Taylor has offered candid insights into her dating life. While still working at Fox Sports, she told Paul Pierce and Azar Farideh on their podcast that she preferred dating younger men – though with limits.
She clarified at the time that she wouldn’t date anyone younger than 25.
“Young men are very aggressive and do not care how old I am,” she said, later adding that she wasn’t actually a cougar actively seeking out 25-year-olds.
