Paul Ritter, the star of Friday Night Dinner, has passed away at the age of 54.
The actor, who also starred in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Quantum of Solace, died on Monday, April 5th, after battling a brain tumour.
A statement released by his agent, per the Guardian, read: "It is with great sadness we can confirm that Paul Ritter passed away last night. He died peacefully at home with his wife Polly and sons Frank and Noah by his side. He was 54 and had been suffering from a brain tumour."
"Paul was an exceptionally talented actor playing an enormous variety of roles on stage and screen with extraordinary skill. He was fiercely intelligent, kind and very funny. We will miss him greatly," they continued.

Ritter is best known for starring in the Channel 4 sitcom, Friday Night Dinner, alongside Tamsin Greig, Simon Bird and Tom Rosenthal. He also appeared as Anatoly Dyatlov in HBO's Chernobyl.
His career on stage was illustrious, being nominated for an Olivier award for his performance in Coram Boy and a Tony nomination for his 2009 role in The Norman Conquests.
Ritter will be appearing in the Friday Night Dinner 10th anniversary retrospective, which will air on Channel 4 later in 2021.
