Actor Stan Kirsch, who found fame on the 90s television show Highlander: The Series as Richie Ryan, was found dead at his Los Angeles home on January 11, the Daily Mail reports. Kirsch was 51-years-old at the time of his death.

Speaking to TMZ, law enforcement sources confirmed that Kirsch was found by his wife, Kristyn Green. He was discovered hanging in their bathroom on Saturday afternoon.

Paramedics quickly responded, but he was soon pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles medical examiner ruled Kirsch died by hanging.

Green confirmed the news in a Facebook post shared on Kirsch's studio page. She wrote:

"Dear friends, We tragically lost our beloved Stan Kirsch on January 11th. We will be closed for the next 2 weeks as we process and grieve. He was so loved and we are all just devastated. Thank you for your understanding and respecting our privacy during this incredibly difficult time."
