Back in March, we all got an awful shock when we learned that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik had broken up after two years of dating. Having all put a lot of time and effort into shipping the couple, it was hard to accept that things were over - and even tougher when the former lovers took to social media to confirm the news to their fans.
Posting an emotional message to Twitter, Zayn was first to comment, saying: "Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend. She has such an incredible soul. I'm grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time, we wish this news could have come from us first. We love you all. xZ".
He was followed by his model ex-girlfriend, who brought fresh tears to our eyes when she wrote: "Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years ... not only in the relationship, but in life in general. I'm forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever's meant to be will always be. xG."
However, despite the heartbreaking social media posts, ever since they broke up speculation has been rife that the couple have found their way back to one another. And now it seems to have been officially confirmed.
After attending the star-studded Ocean's 8 premiere in New York City - walking the red carpet with fellow model Lily Aldridge - Gigi took to social media once again to post a picture of an adorable "afterparty". It was a very exclusive afterparty that only one other person was invited to. You can guess where I'm going with this...
While it's true that in the picture we can't see Zayn's face, we can see his peroxide blonde hair and the trademark racing flag tattoo he has on his arm. All clues point to the couple reuniting and having a night in together playing Pokémon. Pretty cute, right?
It comes as no big surprise that the pair are back together after a few months apart. In April, a mere month after their very public split, the 22-year-old model and 25-year-old singer were seen sharing a passionate kiss while walking in the Big Apple. Things even got a little heated as Zayn gently pushed Gigi up against a wall to continue their make-out session.
So, although we haven't heard the words come out of their mouths, we can conclude from the extensive evidence that Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid are officially back on. May they have many more adorable Pokémon nights to come.
