Gina Carano has accused Disney of "bullying" her after being axed from The Mandalorian for an insensitive post she shared on Instagram.

Carano shared a post to her Instagram Story that compared the treatment of Republicans in the US to the treatment of Jewish people during the Holocaust.

In an interview with conservative commentator, Ben Shapiro on his podcast, the actress and former MMA fighter alleged that there has been a history of bullying at Disney.

She said: "I've been through so much, and I've seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that's been taking place, and I saw it before. I'm not the only one that's ever been bullied by this company, and I know that so deeply.''

She then said that once the entertainment giant "point their guns at you" it's "only a matter of time."

The post in which she compared the political climate in America to the treatment of Jewish people in Nazi Germany reads:

"Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children.

"Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews.

"How is that any different from hating someone for their political views."

On February 10, a spokesperson for Lucasfilm said in a statement that Carano - who played Cara Dune in the first two seasons of the Star Wars series - is no longer employed by the company and there are "no plans" for future employment.

The company also referred to Carano's social media posts as "abhorrent and unacceptable".

Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."

Soon after being dropped from the series, Carano hit back by revealing a new project she is involved in with Shapiro's website The Daily Wire.

Carano told Deadline: "The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true.

"I cried out and my prayer was answered. I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob.

"I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”
