Canadian musician Grimes has claimed that Lil Uzi Vert is the first human to own a planet.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "Apparently [Uzi] owns this planet", and she accompanied the tweet with a creative impression of the planet that's known only as WASP-127b.

The additional tweet revealed that the planet is bigger than Jupiter.

Grimes added that the formal ownership has not yet been confirmed: "Documentation almost complete for @LILUZIVERT to legally claim wasp-127b - this is huge! First human to legally own a planet [sic]."

However, it appears that Grimes' enthusiasm about the rapper owning the planet could have been premature, and Lil Uzi Vert responded and said he wanted his ownership to be a surprise as he's "still working on it."

The rapper took to Twitter again to ask fans about what they'd like him to call his planet (once the aforementioned documentation has been complete).

He wrote: "New name for MY planet?"

Suggesting a name, one Twitter user wrote: "Baby pluto obviously."

A second added: "UZI WRLD."

Meanwhile, a third suggested a number of options writing: "1. Believe me 2. Stevie Wonder 3. Dirty Diana 4. Backspace 5. CD My Wrist 6. Up the ops 7. Thot Back 8. Oppers 9. For Fun 10. Neck on Froze."

However, the top-rated comment pointed out that he is unlikely to ever see his planet in the flesh because of how far away it is.

A second Twitter user similarly added: "The guy selling it is the best scammer on earth [sic]."

To which another Twitter user joked: "Beyond earth apparently [sic]."

This is not the first time that Grimes and Lil Uzi Vert have hit the headlines, and the pair both said earlier this year that they would like to have a brain chip implanted, NME reports.

It all began when Lil Uzi tweeted "Neuralink", which is a reference to Elon Musk's neurological start-up that aims to create brain chips that treat conditions like dementia.

"Let's get brain chips," Grimes replied, and Lil Uzi agreed, writing: "I'm ready when we doing it? [sic]"
