Los Angeles police have confirmed that one person has died as the result of a drive-by shooting during the funeral procession of rapper Nipsey Hussle.
Reports state that just before 6:30 pm on Thursday night, three men and one woman between the ages of 30 and 50 were shot, one of them dying.
The drive-by shooting took place at 103rd and Main Street in south-east Los Angeles, with ABC News stating that the gunman shot aimlessly into the crowd.
The Los Angeles Police Department were tweeting updates throughout the evening confirming that thousands of Hussle's fans had gathered "peacefully" to line the procession, which ran for 25 miles from the Staples Center to a South LA funeral home
Just one hour later, LAPD Chief Michel More had tweeted a harrowing update confirming the shooting and one fatality:
"In the midst of this procession we have a multi-4 Shooting at 103 St and Main St. Victims are 3 Male Blacks and 1 Female Black - ages from 30-50 years old. Tragically one is deceased. Suspects in gray Hyundai fired on the victims.
"We must stop this senseless violence."
Police are now searching for a grey Hyundai associated with the shooting.
Hussle, a Grammy award winner and father of two, was killed outside of his own California clothing store on March 31.
