But her kids haven't grasped just how famous she is. The 52-year-old says that her five-year-old son Maceo is at that age where he's not positive on his mother's importance, but knows that screaming her name in public will get a reaction - both from her and from others. In a piece she wrote for InStyle, Berry said:

"For the last year, my son [Maceo, 5] has been saying my full name really loudly in public like, 'Halle Berry, can you pass me the ketchup?' It’s just so embarrassing! [laughs] He knows it gets a reaction from people, but he can’t quite figure out why."

While her son is still going through this stage, her 11-year-old, Nahla, is past it. She discovered who her mother was from her friends at school.

Berry also touched on the fact that, like most other working mothers, she struggles to balance her work and home life. After becoming a first-time mother at 40, she stated:

"Knowing that someone would always be counting on me made me a better person. I’m more focused and in line with my values and my goals. I stopped letting negativity get me down. Plus, I loved being pregnant."

"Had I started earlier, I probably would have had five children. Or if I hadn’t been busy trying to make movies, I would have been the perfect surrogate. All the hormones made me feel amazing. I was so alive with my purpose and my femininity. It felt like my body was doing what it was built to do."

Berry is currently directing and starring in Bruised, where she plays a MMA fighter who has fallen from the spotlight. The film is in pre-production, and a release date has not yet been confirmed.
