The "Hawk Tuah Girl" got the silent treatment after making an appearance at a country music festival.

For those who have been living under a rock, Haliey Welch became an internet phenomenon following a viral Instagram reel posted by Tim & Dee TV.

In the clip, two women were asked by an interviewer: "What’s one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?"

The 21-year-old responded: "You gotta give ’em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thang. You get me?" and this hilarious interaction turned her into a household name almost overnight.

Since the clip was posted on social media, Welch amassed a substantial following, featuring on podcasts, appearing at a Zach Bryan concert, touring NYC, and releasing merchandise featuring her now-iconic catchphrase.

However, it seems like the fame might be dying down as she did not get the best reaction after showing up on stage at the Rock the South music festival in Cullman, Alabama.

Videos shared online showed the internet personality trying to hype up the crowd for musicians Warren Zeiders and Jelly Roll as if she's a club promoter. But, the audience did not give the 'Hawk Tuah' girl any type of enthusiasm or excitement, in fact, her “woo” was the only thing that could be heard.

Watch the clip below:

The incredibly awkward clip has led to people commenting that Welch's popularity appears to be over. "It's what happens when you force a meme and try to exploit it," one user said, while a second chimed in: "The fifteen minutes are officially over."

A third was seemingly happy about the silent reaction, stating: "FINALLY! It was a stupid meme to begin with and the people who liked it were equally stupid." And a fourth added: "Good, it should have never lasted more than the weekend it was posted."

Unfortunately, certain downsides come with viral stardom such as receiving online hate or having to explain the sudden change in your life to your grandma.

That's why Welch enlisted the help of celebrity TikTok musician, Jax Writes Songs, to debut a short song explaining the meaning of "hawk tuah" and her upbringing.

Listen to the song below:

The tune fills in some biographical blanks in Welch's backstory, with Jax starting with: "This is Haliey and she went to the University of Northern Alabama. But she had to drop out to pay the bills..." to which Welch interjected: "And take care of my grandma."

"And then she went viral so she made some cash / But Granny keeps asking her what hawk tuah means / So we wrote this song for Haliey's grandma," the TikToker continued. "To explain myself to the elderly," Haliey sang back.

The duo then switched back and forth for the remainder of the song. "Hawk Tuah means / Being selfless / Hawk Tuah means / You care," they said. "Hawk Tuah is another word for hard work like / Rollin' up your sleeves / And tying back your hair / Hawk Tuah means love and affection."

Jax said one last time: "Hawk Tuah means..." which prompted Welch to aggressively cut in with her speaking voice: "We in a recession grandma! Stop asking so many questions!" before ending the song.

Many users took to the comments section to praise Welch's efforts in the context of her new song and hit back at the negative comments she received.

"I absolutely love this!! She has been getting so much hate on here, and I am happy to see the change!" one person said. "Nice keep it up let that girl make her money lol" a second added.

I wonder what could be the next chapter in the Hawk Tuah saga.
