Hilaria Baldwin has taken to Instagram to hit back at those who body-shamed her after she posed in underwear while holding her baby.
The 36-year-old began a "conversation" on Tuesday about what happened after Amy Schumer jokingly reposted a picture of her holding her fifth child, Eduardo, who was born in September last year.
After the backlash, Schumer removed the picture of Alec Baldwin's wife and child.
"After many people reached out to me, I decided to respond to the whole photo with Edu being made into a joke thing," Baldwin wrote on Instagram.
It then became clear that while she didn't understand the "joke" about her slender appearance, typically, she is always in the mood for humor.
"My only concern with it is it seemed to start to spiral out of control," Baldwin said in a nearly four-minute-long video.
She then turned the conversation to body shaming.
Watch the video below:"Now, does it hurt my feelings if some people are out there who I don't even know are critiquing why I might post a photo and if I looked differently would I have posted the photo - I sure hope so," Baldwin continued. "Because I love looking at photos supporting our bodies, our temple that we live in 24/7. I love it. Doesn't matter what you look like, I love it. If you're honoring yourself if you're loving yourself, I love it."
She added that inclusivity means everyone.
"There's a whole thing like, 'oh, moms don't look like that,'" she said. "Some moms do. This mom does. And I am included in the inclusivity."
She explained that she enjoys exercising while she can, all the while being a parent to Carmen, 7; Rafael, 5; Leonardo, 4; and Romeo, 2 and of course baby "Edu", and explained that her main motivation for doing so is that it makes her feel good.
"If you really go down this thought process of 'oh, she's looking a certain way' yeah, you know what, I do look a certain way. This is what I look like," she said in the self-facing video.
The mom-of-five explained that she comes from a family of smaller built people and that fitness has always been a priority for her.
"And there is no need that I need to apologize for that - just as there is no need that anyone else needs to apologize."
"Body inclusivity, that means everybody," she continued. Later, she added: "2020 we've had so much negativity the past year," she said. "Stop, we're better together."
Schumer went onto apologise on Hilaria's post and she explained that she wasn't the person she was calling out.
"Girl, don’t even apologize!" Baldwin replied. "You always make me laugh. My only intentions were to address some of the the not so namaste behavior some people went running wild with after. You don’t need to take responsibility for their actions. Much love and light xoxo [sic]"
