Hilaria Baldwin has taken to social media to share a touching post in support of her husband, Alec Baldwin, following the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
The 37-year-old's post comes amid the investigation into the fatal shooting of Hutchins, who was killed at the age of 42 while on the set of Alec Baldwin's movie, Rust.
On October 21, 63-year-old Baldwin was handed a functional prop firearm while on the New Mexico set of the Western, and discharged a live round that injured director Joel Souza and fatally wounded Hutchins.
After being shot at approximately 1:50PM, Hutchins was airlifted to a nearby hospital, but sadly died of her injuries.
As the police investigation into the shooting continues, Hilaria Baldwin has taken to Instagram to share a powerful post in support of her husband.
Sharing a photo of her holding Alec's hand, Hilaria captioned the post: "I love you and I’m here", along with a heart emoji.
In a matter of hours, the post has received over 119,000 'likes' and comments of support from stars such as actor Leslie Jordan and model Ariadne Artiles.
The post comes days after Hilaria shared a statement in response to the incident, which read: "My heart is with Halyna. Her Husband. Her son. Their family and loved ones. And my Alec. It's said, 'there are no words' because it's impossible to express the shock and heartache of such a tragic accident. Heartbreak. Loss. Support."
Yesterday, Alec Baldwin spoke out on camera for the first time about the tragic incident.
Speaking to paparazzi on Saturday in Manchester, Vermont, the actor revealed that he could not comment on the investigation, but did tell reporters: "She was my friend, she was my friend."
He added: "The day I arrived in Santa Fe to start shooting, I took her to dinner with Joel [Souza], the director. We were a very, very well-oiled crew shooting a film together, and then this horrible event happened."
Baldwin also revealed that he is in contact with Hutchins' husband and nine-year-old son.
"We are in constant contact with him because we're very worried about his family and his kid," the actor said.
On Wednesday, Sheriff Adan Mendoza spoke at a press conference between the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office and district attorney's office. Per CNN, Mendoza told reporters: "The facts are clear: a weapon was handed to Mr. Baldwin.
"The weapon is functional and fired a live round, killing Ms. Hutchins and injuring Mr. Souza."
