Hollywood reveals what really happened to Dolly Parton’s Walk of Fame star after reports of vandalism
Just a week after the Queen of Country passed away and left millions worldwide heartbroken, Hollywood has revealed what happened to Dolly Parton’s star on its world-renowned Walk of Fame.
The star commemorating the late country star, who died of a short illness on August 25 at age 80, became a meeting point for fans to pay their respects by laying flowers and playing her music.
However, a second tragedy has struck Dolly fans as a spokesperson for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that her star had been damaged.
Dolly's star is being repaired to provide a place to mourn
Ana Martinez told the Independent: “The star was scheduled for repair for cracks as of last week. A fan went to the star yesterday and reported on social media that the star was vandalized with many scratches. From the photo she posted, it does appear the star was vandalized with scratches.”
She reassured mourning fans by adding: “The flowers had been removed yesterday morning in order to do the scheduled repair on the star today. This repair was set up late last week, and the crew is currently at the star making said repairs. The repairs are currently ongoing and are done by the Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains and repairs the Walk of Fame stars. The star will cure and will be polished on Friday for fans to enjoy.”
The late star has already been laid to rest by her family in a small private funeral at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville, Tennessee. She was buried beside her husband of 60 years, who she wrote so many songs about, Carl Dean, who died in March last year.
Dolly had so many more things she wanted to do before her time came
The news of Dolly’s death came as a shock to the world, as just days before her passing was announced by her nephew Bryan Seaver in an Instagram video, she had told the world she had “so many things” that she still wanted to achieve.
In the video shared days before her death, Parton said: “As I’ve shared in video messages throughout the past year, I am dealing with some health issues that I just didn’t pay attention to when I was watching over Carl.
"You know, this isn’t the first time I’ve had to manage something like this.
"Back in the early ’80s, I was down for several months with female issues, and I was struggling with my weight at the time too, so it’s not like I haven’t been through hard times with my health."
“But I think because we live in a 24/7 world with social media, everything gets magnified in ways it wasn’t years ago. I used to joke that I was the Queen of the Tabloids, but now I guess I can say I’m the Queen of Social Media AI! Seriously, though, even though I’m still healin’, I’m still workin’!
"You know me - as I’ve often said - I’ve dreamed myself into a corner and I still have so many things I want to achieve, so I’m gonna keep on working as long as I can to see everything come to life.”
