Television icon Luke Perry has died at age 52, after suffering a massive stroke. In the 90's, the actor became a household name by starring as brooding heartthrob Dylan McKay on the teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210. He went on to play memorable parts in other projects, like the HBO prison drama Oz, the biographical bull riding film 8 Seconds and the campy sci-fi epic The Fifth Element. However, today's young generation probably knows him best as Fred, Archie Andrews' conservative dad on the hit drama Riverdale, a dark take on the Archie comics.

On social media, fans are mourning the loss of Perry by sharing their favorite Dylan McKay gifs. (For many people, he was their first celebrity crush.) Also, Hollywood is paying tribute to the actor, with several of his costars, peers and famous fans sharing heartfelt messages. While he was taken from the world too soon, he made an indelible impact on pop culture that will not be forgotten.
