It's no secret that many actors go through grueling training to prepare for movie roles. This is especially true of those who star in superhero movies, where a muscular and toned physique is typically a given.

So when Chris Hemsworth, AKA Thor, shared a clip of himself painstakingly working out by pushing weights across the floor and doing what can only be described as a frog hop, Jack Black decided to try out the workout too.

To see the School of Rock star's hilarious recreation, check out the video below:

The 49-year-old actor shared the two clips side by side on his social media accounts, captioning his post, "Mixing it up. Get creative. Keep moving. Variety is key! Who did it better? #ThorWorkout"

And because most of us would struggle to obtain a physique anything like Hemsworth's, Black's recreation won a lot of praise on social media, with users praising the actor for "keeping it real".

In 2017, Hemsworth opened up about how taking on the role of Thor has influenced his workouts:

"My workouts are also about being diverse and mixing things up," he said in an interview with Men's Health. "It's easy to get bored. If I'm doing arm day, I'll work in box jumps in between sets. By working in more cardio, you keep shocking your body and you prevent having problems in certain areas."

And it turns out that Hemsworth himself is also a fan of Black's recreation. He reposted the video on his social media, writing, "The student has become the master."

Touché.
