Jada Pinkett Smith's former lover August Alsina has allegedly alluded to his "entanglement" with the Red Table Talk host in a new song.
It's been more than a week since Pinkett Smith, 50, and her husband Will Smith, 53, made headlines around the world.
The former for her perceived negative reaction to a joke that Oscars presenter Chris Rock, 57, made about her short haircut, and the latter for hitting the comic because of said joke.
Now, Pinkett Smith faces further scrutiny as 29-year-old singer August Alsina - with whom she admitted to having a relationship during her marriage to Smith - has seemingly referenced their fling in his new song.
The R&B vocalist teased a track titled, 'Shake the World', on his Instagram account on Monday. Some of the track's suggestive lyrics are: "Well, of course some s*** is bound to go down when you tangled up with the world's favorite."
His inclusion of the word "tangled" appears to be a reference to Pinkett Smith's use of the world "entanglement". This was the word the actress used to describe her relationship with Alsina in 2020 on her Red Table Talk Show - with her husband, Smith, present during the episode to discuss the extramarital relationship.
The "entanglement" conversation began with Smith saying: "We decided that we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I'll figure out how to make myself happy."
Pinkett Smith then added: "From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August," to which Will responded: "An entanglement? A relationship."
Check out the episode below:The Nutty Professor actress continued: "It was a relationship, absolutely. I was in a lot of pain, and I was very broken. In the process of that relationship, I definitely realized that you can't find happiness outside yourself. I just wanted to feel good, It had been so long since I felt good... and it was really a joy to just help heal somebody."
Elsewhere in the song, Alsina - who entered into the entanglement with Pinkett Smith in 2015 and later admitted to it in 2020 - alludes to supposedly getting canceled after their relationship was confirmed.
"I heard I was canceled," the musician sings on the track. "Well, let’s not speak on that. Red dot on my back, I became a target. And I’m flawed but flawless, that’s what makes me August."
