Jaden Smith is opening up a restaurant where homeless people can enjoy free vegan meals.

The actor, musician, and philanthropist, 22, said he's creating the restaurant to provide "healthy, vegan food for free" to anyone who needs it in Los Angeles' Skid Row, Complex reports.

A video of the I Love You restaurant in action in the area was posted to social media back in February.

The post was captioned: "A BIG THANK YOU to @TheMidnightMission for opening your kitchen and hosting @iloveyourestaurant for our February Activation. We Love You Skid Row!

"Thank you to all our Partners and Volunteers for making this event a success!"

The restaurant is named after the I Love You food truck, which was established for the same purpose by Jaden on his 21st birthday almost two years ago.

A 2017 study from the nonprofit Feeding America found that one in eight Americans are food-insecure, so hopefully, the new restaurant will go a long way to help those in need.

Jaden is hoping that patrons of the I Love You restaurant who are not homeless will chose to spend a little more than they have to on their meals so that a person in need can eat for free.

"But if you're not homeless, not only do you have to pay, but you have to pay for more than the food's worth so that you can pay for the person behind you," he explained.

News of the restaurant comes after Jaden launched another philanthropic project back in October - The Water Box.

This is a filtration system that can be used in areas without clean water, and it was taken to Flint, Michigan to help tackle the area's ongoing water crisis, CBS Detroit reported.

The Water Box meant that the 22-year-old was able to help supply at least 300,000 bottles of water.

"At any moment, we can create a new version of the world," Jaden said. "I have a belief that the next thing that changes everything for everyone can be around the corner."
