Taylor Swift's ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal has finally responded to his former flame's 'All Too Well' track, which is widely thought to have been inspired by their short relationship more than a decade ago.

In recent months, the internet has seen fans of the former country star share their excitement over the release of her new album Red (Taylor's Version), which is a re-recording of her original 2012 album titled Red.

A real fan favorite on the original Red album is the track 'All Too Well', and while it never became a single, it did go on to become one of the most popular songs in Swift's catalog.

It is rumored to be about the three-month relationship she had with actor Jake Gyllenhaal at the end of 2010 when he was 29 and she was 20.

Well, Gyllenhaal has finally responded to the hoopla surrounding the recording of the song's extended version, insisting he does not begrudge the singer-songwriter for releasing it.

In an interview with Esquire, he was asked if he had listened to the new Red album, to which he said: “No.”

Speaking about the attention the re-released 'All Too Well' track received, Gyllenhaal said: “It has nothing to do with me. It’s about her relationship with her fans. It is her expression. Artists tap into personal experiences for inspiration, and I don’t begrudge anyone that.”

He continued: “At some point, I think it’s important when supporters get unruly that we feel a responsibility to have them be civil and not allow for cyberbullying in one’s name. That begs for a deeper philosophical question.

“Not about any individual, per se, but a conversation that allows us to examine how we can—or should, even—take responsibility for what we put into the world, our contributions into the world. How do we provoke a conversation? We see that in politics. There’s anger and divisiveness, and it’s literally life-threatening in the extreme.”

'All Too Well' was originally 10 minutes long, and had to be cut down to just over five minutes. The new version of the song has retained the original parts of the track and those which had to be cut.

Swift also made a short film to accompany the new 10-minute version, with Dylan O'Brien playing an older man dating a young woman played by Sadie Sink.
