Jennifer Garner shared some of her beauty secrets in a recent interview, dividing the internet after voicing her rather strong opinions on Botox and fillers.
The 50-year-old 13 Going On 30 actress, who is known for being a natural beauty, recently told Harper's Bazaar about any beauty advice she would want to pass down to her daughters.
Garner was quick to point out that procedures and fillers promoting everlasting youth are not advisable and said that people should simply "look in the mirror less."
She told the magazine: "My beauty advice is always the same: Look in the mirror less, obsess less, and look at the rest of the world to see what you could be using your time for instead.
"We all look at our faces more than people used to, and it doesn’t do you any good. You obsess over changes or how to fix something on your face."
The actress continued: "My advice is to look at the mirror less and be cautious when it comes to injecting anything into your face. Be very, very incredibly judicious and wait as absolutely long as possible to add anything.
"Don’t think that you’re 37 and you need to be shooting up your face. You don’t need to wear so much makeup or have such a constant blowout."
Thoughts on her interview were varied as some were sceptical as to whether she'd genuinely not undergone any treatments herself. Others praised her for being a terrific role model.
One critic wrote: "*scratches head* didn’t she have her eyes done?"
Another chimed in: "She gets botox. This chick is worth 80 million from getting a divorce, stop acting like you are a middle-class working mother. I find it so condescending. Women have the right to do what they want. Please be silent!"
A third commented alongside a laughing emoji: "She's full of botox."
Needless to say, the actress was also praised for her words of encouragement for those of us who fear ageing, with one writing: "Omg PREACH @TheJenGarner thank you for saying this! couldn’t agree more and this needs to be a much more talked about subject!!! i support this 100000000%!!!!!"
Another added: "This speaks to me as someone who is months away from turning 37."
