Jennifer Hudson has joined the very prestigious EGOT club thanks to her win at last night's Tony Awards.

At last night's 2022 Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, the hit Broadway musical A Strange Loop received the recognition it deserved.

As well as winning the coveted Best Musical award, the show also won the Tony for Best Book of a Musical - a win that secured 40-year-old Hudson's name in the history books.

Hudson, a producer on A Strange Loop, became the 17th person in history to achieve EGOT status. That is, to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.

The prestigious club includes giants in the entertainment business, such as Mel Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg, Andrew Lloyd Webber, John Legend, Audrey Hepburn, and the first-ever EGOT winner, Richard Rodgers.

The last person to secure an EGOT was Disney composer Alan Menken, who achieved the feat back in July 2020.

Per PEOPLE, Hudson won the first of the big four back at the 2007 Academy Awards when she won the Oscar for
Best Supporting Actress for her role in Dreamgirls.

Two years later, she secured the 'G' - winning her first of two Grammys for her 2009 self-titled album.

Twelve years later, she would finally win the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Interactive Media for a Daytime Program for the Baobab Studios' animated short Baba Yaga. Hudson worked on the short as both a voice actor and executive producer.

While accepting the award for Best Book of a Musical at last night's ceremony, A Strange Loop creator Michael R. Jackson said: "We talk a lot about representation and I'm all about representation. But let's make sure to stay on our grind and our art, that we are doing the very best work we can do."

But who will be the next EGOT winner?

Well, some big names who are just one award away from securing the elusive status include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Billy Porter, and Hugh Jackman, who are all only one Oscar short from securing their own EGOT.

My money is on Lin-Manuel Miranda.
