Jennifer Lopez has confirmed her engagement to Ben Affleck - two decades after getting engaged the first time.
Lopez shared the news in a video via her fan newsletter, On The JLo, in which the visibly emotional singer is seen looking at the "perfect" huge green diamond ring on her finger.
"You’re perfect," the Moster In Law star can be heard saying in a voiceover.
The singer and actress had teased the "major announcement" with a video on social media earlier that night.
"So I have a really exciting and special story to share..." Lopez explained to her followers. She has also since added a ring emoji to her Twitter name.
News of their engagement was confirmed by People.
The pair appeared in two movies together - the 2003 romantic comedy, Gigli, which received mostly unfavorable reviews, and the 2004 movie Jersey Girl.
By the time the latter of the two movies came out in theaters, the couple had already announced that they'd called it quits.
Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49, latter married other people, with the Gone Girl star tying the knot with Jennifer Garner and the Hustlers actress wedding Marc Anthony. Both marriages ended in divorce.
The two first began dating in July 2002 and were soon lovingly dubbed "Bennifer" by the media.
They originally got engaged in November of 2002 but postponed their September 2003 wedding just days before the ceremony was supposed to take place. Ultimately, they ended up calling off their engagement in January 2004.
Delighting their many fans, Bennifer rekindled their romance in May 2021 - 17 years after calling off their engagement.
In a December 2021 interview with WSJ, Affleck opened up about feeling "lucky" to have been given second chances, in both his work and his personal life.
He said: "I've had second chances in my career. I've had second chances as a human being. Life is difficult, and we are always failing and hopefully learning from those failures.
"The one thing you really need to avail yourself of the opportunities provided from that growth is the second chance. I've definitely tried to take advantage of that. I haven't always been successful, but in cases in which I have, they've turned out to be the defining aspects of my life."
Congrats to the happily-engaged couple!
