Jersey Shore star Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi issues health warning after shock cancer diagnosis
Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi has issued a stark health warning to fans after revealing she has been diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer, admitting the news was 'not what I was hoping for' but urging others not to ignore routine check-ups.
The reality TV star, 38, best known for her role on MTV’s Jersey Shore, shared the update in an emotional TikTok video, where she opened up about her diagnosis and the medical journey that led to it.
Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi reveals shock cancer diagnosis
Speaking candidly, Polizzi explained that the cancer was discovered following a cone biopsy, a procedure used to remove abnormal tissue from the cervix.
“My results came back for my cone biopsy, and it came back stage 1 cervical cancer called adenocarcinoma,” she said.
“Obviously not the news I was hoping for, but also not the worst news just because they caught it so early. Thank freaking God!”
The mother-of-three went on to stress how vital early detection has been in her case, revealing she had been dealing with abnormal Pap smear results for years.
Admitting she had initially been afraid to seek follow-up treatment, Polizzi told her followers: “Instead of putting it off because I didn’t want to go and it hurt and I was scared, no, I just went and did it. But it’s stage 1 and it’s curable.”
Using her trademark blunt honesty, the reality star turned her diagnosis into a clear call to action.
“So get your appointments done, bitches! I’m telling you!” she said.
“Once you go to stage 2, then you have to do chemo. Nobody wants to do that. It’s scary. So get your appointments done.”
Polizzi also revealed that she will undergo a PET scan to ensure the cancer has not spread, and shared that doctors have discussed the likelihood of a hysterectomy as part of her treatment plan.
However, she added that she may be able to keep her ovaries, something she described as 'a good sign' for her prognosis.
Snooki was brutally honest with her fans
Despite the shock of the diagnosis, Polizzi maintained a sense of perspective, telling fans: “So 2026 is not panning out how I wanted it to, but also, it could be worse.”
She also acknowledged the emotional toll cervical cancer can take, particularly for women who suffer in silence.
“A lot of women go through it silently without anyone to talk to,” she said, before thanking fans for their support.
“I appreciate all of the love. Everything’s going to be fine. I’m going to tackle this and get it done.”
Polizzi, who lives in New Jersey with her husband Jionni LaValle and their three children, has since been flooded with messages of support from fans and fellow celebrities alike.
By sharing her story, the reality star hopes others will be encouraged to prioritize their health — even when it’s uncomfortable or frightening — reminding followers that early action can be life-saving.
