Donald Trump has claimed that he is more popular than Taylor Swift, but Jimmy Kimmel disagrees as he served up an almighty clap-back at the former President.

Swift and Trump couldn't be more different as people, but one similarity that they share is people feel very strongly about them.

Swifties will of course back their idol and claim that she is arguably the most popular figure in the world right now, while Trump supporters will argue otherwise.

Recent reports have claimed that Trump believes himself to be more popular than the global sensation, and Jimmy Kimmel couldn't resist getting involved.

"If Taylor Swift told her fans to storm the Capitol on Jan 6, they would’ve succeeded. They would be running the country right now," Kimmel joked on his Wednesday night show.

Swift has recently found herself in the crosshairs of right-wing conspiracy theories and conservative media, with speculations that she may endorse President Joe Biden for reelection this year.

However, Kimmel dismissed Trump's attempt to challenge Swift and her devoted fanbase as a battle he cannot win.

"Who is he kidding, he’s more popular? If Donald Trump held a rally at SoFi Stadium here in L.A., they would still have enough empty seats to also hold a Taylor Swift concert that night," Kimmel quipped.

Highlighting the contrast between Trump's free rallies and Swift's concerts, where fans willingly pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars, Kimmel emphasized Swift's immense popularity.

Watch Jimmel Kimmel's monologue below:

"Taylor Swift is so popular people want to watch her watching a football game," he added. "The truth is, you’re not even the most popular Donald. That’s still a cartoon duck with a speech impediment and no pants on."

Kimmel suggested that Trump's clash with Swift might be the tipping point for the former president. "It won’t be Jan. 6. It won’t be the election fraud, or the sexual assault, or dancing with Jeffrey Epstein, or even fathering Don Jr.," Kimmel remarked. "What’s finally gonna bring down Donald Trump will be an army of p***ed-off Swifties."

Whatever your thoughts on Swift, it's hard to argue that she isn't one of the most famous faces on the planet, with a fan base devoted to her.

This is evident by how fast her worldwide Eras Tour sold out, and also how quickly Swifties rallied around the singer after explicit AI images of her found their way onto X.

The hashtag "TaylorSwiftAI" began trending on X overnight on January 25 as users shared various digitally-created images portraying the 'Bad Blood' singer in explicit scenarios.

The origin of these images remains unclear, but the trend prompted the emergence of the hashtag "Protect Taylor Swift" as Swifties expressed their support for the singer and voiced their outrage over the lewd content.

The platform was flooded with support for Swift, that the explicit images were drowned out and eventually were removed entirely.
