In a new study that may ruffle feathers, it appears that Joe Rogan’s podcast - The Joe Rogan Experience - is a relationship "red flag" for many women.

Change Research conducted an eye-opening study with 1,033 participants aged between 18-34, diving into political leanings, dating dealbreakers, and more. Interestingly, while Joe Rogan’s show is one of the most-followed podcasts in the UK and US - with nearly 15 million subscribers and an astounding 11 million listeners per episode - it's also proving to be divisive in the dating scene.

According to the data, 55% of women admitted that they are turned off by potential partners who listen to the Joe Rogan Experience.

On the flip side, only 35% of men felt the same way. Considering that 72% of Rogan's fan base is male, as reported by UnHerd, it may not be entirely surprising. However, it’s worth noting that the majority of Rogan’s fans are white males between the ages of 18-34, precisely the demographic surveyed by Change Research.

Rogan has often landed himself in hot water for his controversial takes.

During the pandemic, he faced severe backlash for spreading misinformation related to the virus, vaccines, and treatments. This led to a campaign advocating for his cancelation, further fueled by the resurfacing of instances where he used racial slurs in past episodes — actions for which he later apologized.

Other notable turn-offs for women appeared to be men who say "All Lives Matter" and men who refuse to see the Barbie movie.

Despite this, Rogan continues to be a major cultural commentator. He recently took a stance defending the record-breaking Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, which many right-leaning commentators criticized as "woke".

In an interview with Post Malone, Rogan expressed his perplexity, stating: "It's a f**king doll movie! It's a fun movie about dolls who come to life and try to interact with the real world."

Discussing further, Rogan admitted: "It was a bizarre movie, but it was a fun, silly movie, I laughed. But at the end of it I was like, 'How did people get outraged at that?'"

He countered critics by emphasizing: "They [critics] think it’s a super woke movie. But it’s also a movie about how Barbies are the dolls that everyone cares about, and Ken is just a f***ing accessory, which is real."

The study also touched upon other contentious topics. For example, 53% of women revealed they would be turned off if their partner refused to watch Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie. Among men, a whopping 64% considered "identifying as a communist" as a glaring red flag.

So, if you're in the dating scene and a Joe Rogan fan, will this study make you rethink your podcast choices?
