A former agent of Johnny Depp has told jurors that the actor lost out on leading movie roles due to his "unprofessional behavior" and not because he was defamed, as he claims.

Depp, 58, is in the middle of a high-profile defamation court case against his ex-wife Amber Heard, 36.

He accuses the Aquaman star of defaming him in an op-ed for The Washington Post, in which she described experiencing domestic abuse.

The article was headlined: "I Spoke Up Against Sexual Violence — and Faced Our Culture’s Wrath. That Has to Change."

While he was not named in the piece, his attorneys argue that it implies that he abused his former wife - an allegation that he denies.

In addition to denying the allegation, Depp also claims that, in actual fact, it is he who is the victim in this case.

He claims it was his ex who physically abused him and that her allegations against him hurt his career irrevocably.

However, it appears Depp's former longtime agent begs to differ.

Tracey Jacobs, an agent with United Talent Agency, represented Depp for 30 years. He let her go back in October 2016. And on Thursday, Jacobs testified that her former client's struggle to land roles in recent years was due to his own "unprofessional" conduct - as opposed to Heard's allegations against him.

While Depp was once "the biggest star in the world," Jacobs testified, "his star had dimmed due to it getting harder to get him jobs given the reputation he had acquired due to his lateness and other things."

At one point, the Edward Scissorhands star even started relying on an earpiece to have his lines fed to him, she claimed.

“Crews don’t love sitting around for hours and hours waiting for the star of the movie to show up,” Jacobs added. “It also got around town. People talk. It’s a small community. It made people reluctant to use him toward the end.”

She went on to say that showbiz execs were talking about Depp's alcohol and drug use as well.

Depp, however, insists he was defamed by Heard and is suing her for $50 million, with the Pineapple Express star countersuing for $100 million.
