In a heartwarming new interview with Justin Bieber, the Yummy singer started crying when talking about wanting to "protect" rising star Billie Eilish from what he went through at a young age in the music industry.

The touching moment occurred during an interview on Beats 1, Apple's international radio station, with Zane Lowe.

The 25-year-old was promoting his new album Changes when he was asked about his relationship with the 18-year-old Grammy winner.

Take a look at the moment Billie Eilish seemed baffled by Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig at the 2020 Academy Awards:

"Yeah, I definitely feel protective of her," he said.

"It was hard for me being that young and being in the industry and not knowing where to turn and everyone telling me they loved me and you know, just turning their back on you in a second," Bieber continued. "I just kind of let her do her thing and if she ever needs me I'm going to be here for her."

“But yeah, just protecting those moments because people take for granted encounters," he said.

"I just want to protect her. I don't want her to lose it. I don't want her to go through anything I went through," he added. "I don't wish that upon anybody. So yeah, if she ever needs me, I'm just a call away."

Yesterday, Eilish took to social media to post the clip, encouraging her followers to "stream [Bieber's new album] changes" in the caption.

Included in the post, was a series of images featuring a young Eilish's Bieber merch.

Bieber responded to the post, writing: "Love you !!!"

His wife and model Hayley Bieber responded with the heart exclamation emoji.

Other celebs also took to the comments to share their thoughts, with Jameela Jamil dubbing the post the "purest content on the internet".
