Kanye West has taken to Twitter to post a bizarre rant, where he declared that slavery is a "choice".

"Che Pope got Dave Free’s number ... will have Kendrick’s numbed shortly ... I’ll keep you guys updated Winking face Remember they cut our tongues when we were on the boat ... but noooooow.... slaaaaaavery iiiiiiiiis aaaaaaaaa chooooooooice [sic]," he wrote.

At the time of writing, the tweet has not yet been deleted.

This comes after the 43-year-old rapper continued his feud with the music labels Universal and Sony as he asked to be released from his record deal.

He also revealed on the social media platform that he is building a huge home around the home he shares with his reality television star wife, Kim Kardashian, and their four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

"The artist deserve to own our masters ... artist are starving without tours ... Ima go get our masters ... for all artist ... pray for me," he wrote.

"When you sign a music deal you sign away your rights. Without the masters you can’t do anything with your own music. Someone else controls where it’s played and when it’s played. Artists have nothing accept the fame, touring and merch," he continued.

West made similarly controversial comments regarding slavery during an episode with his bipolar disorder back in 2018.

He told TMZ at the time: "When you hear about slavery for 400 years ... for 400 years? That sounds like a choice. We're mentally imprisoned."

The Bound 2 singer later apologized for his comments.

On July 22nd, Kim issued a statement on Kanye West's mental health.

The beauty mogul took to her Instagram Stories on July 22 to call for "compassion" and "empathy", as she discussed her husband's bipolar disorder. This follows the rapper posting a slew of tweets that prompted widespread concern.

"As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar [sic] disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand," Kim wrote.

"I've never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye's right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health," the mother-of-four continued.

"Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try."

While the 39-year-old noted that she "understands" that Kanye is "subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times can cause strong opinions and emotions," she added: "He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder. Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions."
