It's a sad fact that celebrities on social media, particularly female ones, are forced to content with negative comments from trolls on a daily basis. It seems as though some trolls out there will simply take any opportunity to cast insults at people, and will use any ammunition they can find to bring others down.

But that doesn't mean that our favorite celebs don't give as good as they get from time to time. For instance, this week Hollywood actress Kate Beckinsale mercilessly shut down a troll who spoke ill of her supposed relationship with Goody Grace.

Watch Kate Beckinsale show off her incredible flexibility in a recent video:

The trouble began when Beckinsale took to her official Instagram account to share a short video of her cat acting strangely, refusing to step into a white square on the floor when ordered to. Beckinsale captioned the footage: "Very much did not go as planned. Please tell me if this worked for you and WHY MY CAT IS BROKEN? [sic]"

However, one Instagram user wrote in the comments of the video: "Try and see if your new tom boy will adhere [sic]", to which Beckinsale promptly replied: "Try and see if you can spell and not just goon yourself straight out the gate. [sic]"

Per British tabloid newspaper The Metro, the 46-year-old Beckinsale was rumored to be romantically attached to the 22-year-old Canadian musician, after the two of them were spotted holding hands together while out in Los Angeles on Easter Sunday.

In January 2019, she was then reportedly dating SNL comedian Pete Davidson. Commented on her relationship with Davidson in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Beckinsale stated: "I'm surprised by the interest. I’ve never been in this position before—never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief."

She added: "It’s all quite shocking, and something to get used to. I think if you liked the person less, you would bow out of it. If that were the main thrust of the relationship, there would be a problem."
