Katie Price has been arrested and rushed to hospital after an alleged drink driving crash.

The former glamour model, 43, was taken to hospital after the horror crash on Tuesday, September 28, which The Sun reports could see her facing jail time.

A picture of the crash in Sussex, England, was subsequently posted to social media and shows Price's BMW on its side and the blue lights of an ambulance in the background.

Authorities confirmed that the road had to be briefly closed on Tuesday as a result of the incident.

The Sun reports that Price was arrested at the scene for drink driving, with the news outlet adding that the crash took place at a time when she was understood to be banned from driving.

Price appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday, September 27, and appeared to confirm that she was still banned from driving and wouldn't be allowed her license back until December of this year.

An eyewitness said of the accident: "Katie rolled her car and was in a bad way when police arrived. She's in hospital now and everyone is desperately worried about her and why she was driving."

A Sussex Police spokeswoman confirmed: "Police responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision on the B2135 near Partridge Green around 6.20 am on Tuesday, September 28.

"A woman, 43, was arrested on suspicion of driving while above the legal limit for alcohol and drugs and has been taken to hospital to be checked over.

"The road was blocked temporarily while recovery of the vehicle was arranged."

Paramedics confirmed that one person was taken to hospital for treatment after they attended the scene of the crash.

It comes after Price opened up on Good Morning Britain yesterday about how she is struggling to visit her son Harvey at his residential college in Cheltenham because of her driving ban.

She explained on yesterday's GMB: "Obviously I don't get my license back until December, so I can't just whizz in the car down there and it's not close."

The British Sentencing Council reports that the maximum sentence for drink driving is six months jail time with an unlimited fine.
