Katy Perry has taken to Twitter to speak about suffering "waves of depression" amid the current coronavirus pandemic. The Firework singer is currently expecting her first child, a girl, with her finacé Orland Bloom, and it clearly hasn't been easy to be pregnant in this "unprecedented" time. In fact, it has left her "frazzled".

"Sometimes i don’t know what’s worse trying to avoid the virus or the waves of depression that come with this new norm [sic]," she wrote on the social media platform.

Thankfully, Katy's fans were quick to reassure her that "brighter days" are ahead, and that this too will pass.

"Just remember the little light of your life will be in your arms soon," wrote one Twitter user, while another corroborated "This isn’t our norm forever. brighter days are ahead. sending you all my love."

"You’ve told us this but now it’s our turn to tell you: it’s okay to feel like this but we are getting through this and, specially you, have a great family around, you’re about to give birth to a new human being, things are brighter than they seem [sic]," added a third.

Back in March, Katy confirmed her pregnancy in her new music video for Never Worn White, in which she dons a variety of elegant pieces, including a white gown and a floral number. At the end of the short film, the singer is seen cradling her baby bump.

Watch as a formerly paralyzed singer brings Katy to tears on American Idol:

She later took to Instagram Live to confirm the news with her tens of millions of fans, saying;

“There’s a lot that’s happening this summer. Not only will I be giving birth, literally, and figuratively… to something you guys have been waiting for.

“I’m excited, we’re excited, and happy. It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I thought I would tell you guys in the best way through a piece of music. While it’s not the lead single, it’s a good way to start out. I had to reveal it [the pregnancy] at some point."
