We're living in a new age of Keanu Reeves right now. His career kind of petered out after the Matrix trilogy ended, and he started becoming known for the 'Sad Keanu' meme more than his screen presence, after one photo of him solemnly sitting a lone on a public bench went viral. And that wasn't the only meme going around.
It became such a big part of internet culture for a while that Sad Keanu had multiple twitter accounts and websites, while the real Keanu even spoke about the strange viral fame in a televised interview. "Do I wish I hadn't got my picture taken while I was eating a sandwich on the streets of New York?" the actor said. "Yeah."
In the years since the Sad Keanu incident, things have changed somewhat. Now Reeves' John Wick series has gone from strong cult following to have a genuine huge fanbase, and he's made it pretty clear he's doing pretty well - and giving back to others too.
The actor was recently on a United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Burbank, LA over the weekend, but all was not well with the journey. The plane had to make an emergency landing in Bakersfield, around 100 miles short of their destination.
You might expect Reeves to hire an expensive car service and get out of there, and no one would blame him, but instead he joined in with the regular people and tried to find a working solution for them all.
Keanu was the centre of attention, as you'd probably expect. And he got s**t done.
They eventually headed out in a minibus, with Keanu asking them all to "hit the road" with him rather than wait hours for the baggage claim staff to arrive.
He then entertained them all on the drive by giving them trivia on the area they were passing through, and finding the specific local brand of country music from around there to listen to on their journey.
At the end of the compiled video, Keanu shakes hands with one of the departing passengers, insisting "it was a pleasure to meet you". Soon after, he was dropped off too, wandering off into a Carl's Jr burger joint.
God speed, Keanu.
