Yesterday, (October 27), Keanu Reeves was spotted with a newly shaved head in Berlin, where he and the rest of the cast and crew of The Matrix 4 are filming, per news.com.au.
With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many film productions had been halted over the last several months - including the fourth installment of The Matrix franchise.
Fortunately for fans of the popular film series, it was confirmed that filming had resumed back in August, per Sky News.
Check out the trailer for The Matrix from 1999:According to news.com.au, the 56-year-old actor's girlfriend Alexandra Grant had dropped him off at his Berlin hotel ready to continue filming The Matrix 4.
In the pictures, Reeves, new buzz cut and all, is seen waving goodbye to Grant, 47. The pair can also be seen kissing and smiling at each other in the sweet pictures.
As news.com.au mentions, the new look resembles his appearance in the very first Matrix movie when his character Neo wakes up in a human breeding facility full of slime.
The outlet also adds that considering slime was reportedly delivered to the set in a large truck last week, the scene may be revisited.
The outlet claims that during filming, Reeves has been staying with his girlfriend on the weekends.
Just the week before, the actor was spotted with the same red tote bag, kissing Grant goodbye before heading into the Berlin hotel - but this time with a full head of hair.
When filming resumed in the summer, Reeves praised the production team, saying per Sky News: "There's some really thoughtful, effective protocols in place. And the rhythm of film-making has been not really impacted or interrupted in the sense of filming."
He added: "But that's because of just all the hard work and organization and again, thoughtfulness that's gone into the protocols. We're scrappy."
"We know how to get stuff done. We're inventive. We think on our feet. And, you know, that kind of spirit, kindred spirit of just coming together."
Lana Wachowski has returned as co-writer and director for the new Matrix film. She along with her sister Lilly wrote and directed all of the previous films.
The Matrix 4 is set to be released sometime next year.
