Keke Palmer jokingly dragged her Met Gala plant-based meal on social media - and the internet had plenty to say about it.
The actress and co-host of Vogue's live-stream coverage of the event, 28, shared the picture to her Instagram story, seemingly mocking the food being served at the exclusive event, as per Yahoo! News.
She shared a picture of a plate showing a few grains and vegetables that she captioned: "This why they don't show y'all the food."
This was accompanied by a tongue-sticking-out emoji and a clarification that she wasn't being serious and "just playinnnn".
Palmer's picture of the food subsequently made its way onto Twitter after it was reposted by the account Pop Base, and fans were quick to comment on the quality.
Pop Base captioned the tweet: "Keke Palmer gives us a preview of the high-fashion food served at the #MetGala."
Reacting to the tweet, one Twitter user wrote: "My dinner today was literally better."
A second added: "'high fashion food' THIS IS HORRENDOUS, POP BASE."
A third wrote: "the leftovers of my 2$ salad."
A fourth wrote: "this is ... atrocious. however if im going to one of the most iconic nights in fashion, id probably eat nothing or very little/something light like in the pic. my self esteem couldnt handle me being bloated [sic]."
A fifth added: "I thought that was a tortilla and she was making a taco but that's just the plate."
Palmer's comments about the food come after Vogue magazine revealed prior to the event that the entire menu would be plant-based in 2021 to promote sustainability.
As per TMZ, the head Met Gala chef has now responded to the picture of Keke's meal.
Marcus Samuelsson, a restaurateur and chef who selected the 10 up-and-coming cooks for the event, confirmed that the food pictured was served at the Met Gala and that food, like everything else in life, depends on a person's taste - but this food tasted good.
He said the meal pictured was barley topped with roasted mushrooms, tomato salad with corn and zucchini slices.
The outlet also states that the feedback Samuelsson has received on his offerings has been "incredible".
