Kelly Osbourne firmly rejected long-standing speculation that her parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, had ever entered into a suicide pact, calling the idea “nonsense” in a social media post just weeks before the death of her father at the age of 76.

“Stop making articles or posts about how you think my parents are having a suicide pact,” Kelly, 40, wrote on Instagram earlier this month, as reported by E! News. “That was bulls**t my mom said to get attention one time. And my dad’s not dying. Stop.”

Her comments came in response to renewed speculation following the circulation of an AI-generated video online that used a voice resembling Ozzy Osbourne’s. In the clip, the voice says: “I don’t need a doctor to tell me that I’m going to die. I know I’m going to die.”

Kelly acknowledged her father’s well-documented health challenges, including a Parkinson’s diagnosis and complications from a serious quad bike accident in 2003 that left him with long-term mobility issues. However, she insisted at the time that despite those struggles, Ozzy was not near death.

The notion of a suicide pact between Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne originally surfaced in a 2007 interview.

At the time, Sharon, now 72, stated that she and her husband had discussed plans to seek assisted suicide in Switzerland should either of them face a degenerative brain condition such as Alzheimer’s disease.

“We believe 100% in euthanasia,” she said, adding that they couldn’t bear the idea of putting their children through the pain of watching them deteriorate.

Sharon has spoken openly in the past about her own battles with depression and her previous suicide attempts. She later reaffirmed the assisted dying comments in a 2023 episode of the family’s “Osbourne Podcast,” telling her son Jack that she and Ozzy did not want to “suffer.”

“I don’t want it to actually hurt,” Sharon said. “Mental suffering is enough pain without physical. So if you’ve got mental and physical, see ya.”

Kelly challenged her mother’s remarks during that discussion, asking: “But what if you could survive?” Sharon responded bluntly: “Yeah, what if you survived and you can’t wipe your own ass, you’re pissing everywhere, s**tting, can’t eat?”

Neither Kelly nor Sharon has released an individual statement since Ozzy’s death was announced, though the family did share a joint message confirming his passing.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the statement read, per Page Six. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time. — Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”

Ozzy Osbourne shared three children with Sharon: Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. He was previously married to Thelma Riley, with whom he had two biological children, Jessica and Louis, and adopted her son from a prior relationship, Elliot Kingsley.

Ozzy and Sharon were married in 1982 and remained together until his passing.
