Kim Kardashian has opened up about a serious diagnosis, which she appeared to attribute to her ex-husband Kanye West.

Now, Kim has revealed that during a routine MRI scan, doctors discovered what she described as a “little aneurysm” in her brain - and she has attributed this to her difficult marriage.
She shared the news on the season seven premiere of The Kardashians while speaking with her sister Kourtney Kardashian. “They found a little aneurysm,” Kim said, to which Kourtney responded: “Whoa.” The moment was followed by scenes showing Kim being rolled into an MRI machine as images of her brain appeared on a monitor.
Later, Kim broke down in a phone call, asking: “Why the f**k is this happening?” The emotional moment came as she reflected on years of personal stress. According to health authorities, a brain aneurysm is a ballooning of a blood vessel in the brain. If it ruptures, it can lead to life-threatening bleeding. Unruptured aneurysms are usually monitored over time instead of being treated immediately.
She links the aneurysm to stress from her marriage and divorce
Kim said doctors connected the aneurysm to the intense stress surrounding her relationship with Kanye West. The pair were married in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2022. They share four children: North (12), Saint (9), Chicago (7), and Psalm (6).
In the episode, Kim opened up about the emotional burden of their relationship, admitting: “I’m happy it’s over.” In a confessional, she added, “People think that I have the luxury of walking away. My ex will be in my life no matter what. We have four kids together.”
Her wider history of health challenges
This diagnosis adds to a list of health issues Kim has faced publicly. In 2022, she said that a rapid 16-pound weight loss to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s dress for the Met Gala triggered a psoriasis flare-up, which then developed into psoriatic arthritis. She has also experienced placenta accreta, a condition during pregnancy that can cause heavy bleeding, during the births of her daughter North and son Saint.
Though Kim has not said whether she’ll undergo further treatment, small, unruptured aneurysms are often managed with monitoring rather than immediate surgery. Her openness about her health continues to resonate with fans and raise awareness of often-overlooked medical issues.
