Macaulay Culkin may be an international household name, but it turns out many of us probably don't know his actual real name.
Yes, after shooting to fame at just 10 years old as the lovable yet cheeky Kevin McCallister in the Christmas comedy Home Alone, Culkin has been a part of many of our lives since we were children.
Subsequent hit roles in 90s movies like My Girl and Richie Rich meant that Culkin would go on to become one of the most successful and recognizable child stars of all time.
However, despite many of us being able to look at a photo of the star and say, "I know him, that's Macaulay Culkin" - it turns out we'd all be wrong.
You see, back in 2021, Culkin launched a poll on his website Bunny Ears asking fans to vote on what they believe he should legally change his name to.
The 42-year-old star - born Macaulay Carson Culkin - wrote: "I assume you are up to speed on my middle name conundrum. Just in case you aren't, let's sum it up real quick: My middle name is something dumb. Larry? Orange? Honestly, I can't even remember it.
"So I asked you all to send in some better options so I can go down to the court house and explain to a judge why I need to change my middle name to something cool."
He then revealed that he had received "hundreds of suggestions" for new middle names, including "Shark Week, Kieran (the name of his younger actor brother), TheMcRibIsBack, and Publicity Stunt."
Well, when all was said and done - and 10,000 votes later - there was one clear winner: "Macaulay Culkin".
So, per It's Gone Viral, the actor's full name is now Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.
And it is a bizarre fact that many of his lifelong fans just can't seem to shake, with people taking to social media to muse over the bizarre name change.
"We're watching Home Alone 2 and I just remembered that Macaulay Culkin changed his name to Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin. Magic," one person tweeted.
"#1 on list of greatest Christmas truths is that God became man and came and dwelt with us. Also on the list - though further down - is that Macaulay Culkin's legal middle name is 'Macaulay Culkin,'" another user added.
Another person tweeted: "Little known fact: Macaulay Culkin's full legal name is Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin after he allowed the internet to choose his middle name and they chose Macaulay Culkin [...] He stood by his word - LEGEND."
Personally, I was kinda rooting for "TheMcRibIsBack"... because who doesn't love the McRib?
