Madison Beer opened up about the devastating effect of having nude photos of herself leaked when she was just 15 years old.

Now 27, Madison found fame at just 13 years old in 2012 after one of her singing covers she'd posted on YouTube was shared by Justin Bieber on Twitter.

This made her trend worldwide and led to Justin signing Madison to the record label he was signed to - Island Records.

She began to work on her debut album the following year and soon carved out a successful music career of her own.

However, she was soon to experience the darker side of fame as she revealed her intimate images were leaked when she was still a child, and she battled her mental health including self-harm and attempting to take her own life.

Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast in 2023, Madison revealed the horrifying moment she was told that intimate images she'd sent to a young boy she'd known all her life on Snapchat when she was just 13 or 14 had been made public.

She explained: "It's unfortunately a memory I'll never be able to shake. It's remained so vividly to the point where like, I still, to this day, if I get a call in the middle of the night, it's I'm back, I'm 15 again, and I'm in my room, and I'm finding out that this video is out there, and it's really scary."

Madison revealed that she dropped to the floor when she saw the images on Twitter, adding: "I reached out to the person who posted it and begged them to delete it. And they just blocked me straight up, just blocked me immediately."

Sharing just how deeply the invasion affected her, Madison admitted: "Many girls have committed suicide over this. I attempted to over this.

"There were so many things weighing on me that I started self-harming again, which I'd been clean for a while.

"I just felt like it was something I'd been thinking about for a really long time, I also always said to people - and this is horrible and dark - but probably starting at 15, I would always tell people, I would always say 'I know I'm going to die from suicide, I know.'"

The singer revealed that her boyfriend, NFL star Justin Herbert, has been a great support to her, explaining: "I feel like taken care of in a way that I can break down and like I have someone to lean on. And I think that's important.

"I've had three now long-term relationships in my life back to back. I've like really never been single.

"I think that is because of my deep-rooted abandonment and attachment style and whatever. And I am working through that."
