Mark Wahlberg looks unrecognizable on the set of his upcoming movie, Father Stu.
The 49-year-old actor was caught on camera on the set of his new flick, which sees him portray a former boxer-turned-priest.
Wahlberg is usually known for his buff physique - with his insane morning routine going viral back in 2019 - so many fans were taken aback when the star was pictured flaunting his recent weight gain and newly shaved head alongside Mel Gibson in Los Angeles.
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel last month, Wahlberg told the chat show host: "After we do the boxing scenes, I get to put on as much weight as possible over the course of the film, so I’m challenging myself to put on 30 pounds in the next six weeks.
"They want me to do it as healthy as possible and I’m like... Dude, I’ve been on such a regimen for so long, I just want to eat everything in sight. I want to go to bakeries. I want to go to Denny’s. I want to get pancakes. I want to get everything I can possibly get my hands on."
However, despite gaining weight naturally, it has been reported that the recent photos of Wahlberg do show him in a "fat suit" and prosthetics.
Regardless, many of Wahlberg's fans were quick to praise Wahlberg's dedication to his art, with one person tweeting: "God, grant me the dedication to my job, my life, my everything of Mark Wahlberg method acting his most recent movie."

Sharing two shots of himself just 21 days apart, Wahlberg captioned the post: "From left photo 3 weeks ago to this, now. Thanks to @chef_lawrence_d cooking. [sic]"
Replying to a comment, Wahlberg revealed he had gained 20lbs between the two pictures.
Supporting her husband every step of the way, Wahlberg's wife, 42-year-old model Rhea Durham, commented: "And it looks just as hot in person baby."
Father Stu is an upcoming biopic about Father Stuart Long - whose story Wahlberg has reportedly been trying to tell on the big screen for several years now.
Mel Gibson's partner, Rosalind Ross, is directing the movie.
