Matthew Perry has been buried in the same cemetery where many notable names have been laid to rest, including Paul Walker and Carrie Fisher.

In the wake of Perry's sad death in late October, his family released a statement expressing their gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans worldwide.

They told People: "We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him, and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love."

Fans of Perry and the iconic TV show Friends paid their respects at the iconic New York City apartment building, where they left touching tributes to the actor who had touched their lives.

Near the building's exterior, which served as the backdrop for countless memorable scenes from the show, bouquets and handwritten notes formed a poignant display.

Last week, Perry's loved ones gathered to bid their final farewells at an intimate funeral, including his co-stars from Friends.

According to TMZ, the solemn ceremony saw members of Perry's family, including his mother Suzanne Morrison, his father John Bennett Perry, and his stepfather, Dateline correspondent Keith Morrison, carrying his coffin. Approximately 20 individuals were present near Perry's burial plot.

The heart-wrenching event also saw the presence of Friends cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow. Their attendance was a poignant reminder of the enduring bonds forged during their time on the iconic show.

The funeral took place at Forest Lawn cemetery in the Hollywood Hills. It is situated directly opposite Warner Bros Studios, where Friends was filmed over its ten-season run.

The cemetery is the eternal home to numerous Hollywood legends, including Carrie Fisher of Star Wars, Paul Walker of Fast & Furious, and Bette Davis, the once highest-paid woman in the US.

The cemetery is also the final resting place of Walt Disney, Michael Jackson, and Anne Heche, to name a few.

While it remains uncertain whether a public celebration of Matthew Perry's life will be held in the future, it is no surprise that his burial was a private and discreet affair.

The Friends cast has always cherished their privacy, and given the profound impact of this loss, their careful and considerate handling of the situation is entirely understandable.

He brought so much joy to hundreds of millions of people around the world with his pitch-perfect comedic timing and wry wit. His legacy will live on through countless generations."

Our thoughts continue to be with Perry's loved ones.
