A mechanic has gone viral on social media this week after discovering something sinister in a customer's car.
He decided to film his investigation after a woman came into his auto repair shop, fearing she was being stalked by an ex-partner.
The mechanic agreed to take a look under the hood to see if anything was amiss – and he was shocked by what he found.
"So a customer is scared there’s a tracker in her vehicle from a crazy ex-boyfriend," the mechanic can be heard stating in the video, which was shared on TikTok by a user with the handle @kaos_noe.
Just seconds afterwards, the mechanic can be heard exclaiming in surprise: "What the heck?"
After taking a look underneath the car, the mechanic got a nasty shock when he found a strange black device stuck to the bottom of it.
Take a look at the chilling footage of the mechanic's discovery in the video below:The mechanic then scans the QR code on the device before looking up the number online; learning that the mysterious machine is actually a tracking device linked to someone's phone – presumably a phone belonging to the ex-boyfriend the customer believed was stalking her.
Per The Daily Mirror, the video has accrued over a million views from terrified social media users as of the time of writing, with a number of commenters thanking the mechanic for listening to the woman and taking her stalking claims seriously.
Per The Mirror, one commenter wrote: "Thank you for checking and not blowing it off. You might have saved her life."
Meanwhile, someone else commented: "I'm glad you found it, but never second guess a woman who suspects safety issues around an ex until it is proved safe beyond a shadow of a doubt."
Finally, a third person added: "Thank you for actually checking vs assuming she's crazy. [sic]"
