A young woman is urging people to make sure their car doors are locked the moment they get inside after one unsettling experience.

Twenty-two-year-old Esor (or @esor_gaming on TikTok) recounted a terrifying story in which a stranger tried to force his way into her car.

In a video on the platform, Esor explained that she had been leaving for work on one particular morning in the previous week when she spotted another vehicle pull up right behind her.

While she was putting on her seatbelt, she explained that she noticed that the driver behind her was a woman.

"A man approaches her car, and they both put on masks, so I assume it's a Lyft or an Uber or something so I decided I'll just wait for them to pick up and leave so I can get out of my spot easier," Esor explained.

The TikToker then saw the man walking away from the female driver's car and came to the conclusion that she wasn't an Uber or Lyft driver.

"The woman starts driving away but she's stopped suddenly, directly next to my car, starts honking furiously and pointing at me, and I'm super confused," she explained.

"I don't know what's going on. Then finally I turn around behind me, the same man is pulling out my car door trying to get inside my car."

Esor concluded her chilling tale by sharing her gratitude for the woman's quick thinking and thanked the woman for letting her know that the man was trying to enter her car, as "things could have been so much worse".

The insightful video has currently been viewed over 879,000 times since it was posted last week. Needless to say, plenty of people have since taken to the comments to share their thoughts on the alarming story.

One wrote: "It's easy to get distracted when you're inside your car. You won't hear it until it's too late. I never lock my door but will now. Scary!"

Another had her own car-related tale to tell: "I almost had a man run me off the road today at 75mph because he hot mad that I merged in front of him. My daughter was in the car."
