She went on to compare it to the childhood tradition of "blood brothers," where friends would exchange drops of blood as a symbol of their bond. "That's not satanic, right? That's normal and that's cute and sweet. That's an innocent ... little bond between kids who love each other and they have a pure friendship," Fox explained, clarifying that her blood-drinking ritual with MGK was about their connection, not something dark.Rituals and personal beliefsIn her defense, Fox further clarified that there was no dark or occult meaning behind their actions. She shared that growing up as a Pentecostal Christian, she had "never been part of a satanic ritual" and didn’t know anyone who had. “I’m not a satanist or any kind of an evil witch,” Fox stated, emphasizing that their ritual was personal to them and nothing harmful.Fox continued by reflecting on the concept of rituals, noting that they can be found in everyday life, whether it’s attending church or following a skincare routine. “Anything is a ritual,” she said. She also addressed the perspective of others, asking, “Honestly, though, it's a matter of perspective. What is so gross about what I did with my soulmate...?”Fox then took things further, addressing the criticism with strong words: “So f--- you, you’re so offended that I got a drop of Machine Gun Kelly’s blood in my mouth,” she said, part of a playful yet bold defense of her and MGK's bond. She also tackled the criticism by questioning other people's habits, adding, “So f--- you, you're so offended that I got a drop of Machine Gun Kelly’s blood in my mouth... Honestly, though, it's a matter of perspective. What is so gross about what I did with my soulmate...?” She went further by calling out other behaviors that some might find equally strange or "disgusting."Credit: Lester Cohen / GettyA humorous defense and MGK’s reactionFox also took to Instagram to elaborate on her comments, adding that her remarks were meant to be humorous. “If you don’t understand sardonic or self deprecating humor and/or you have a compulsive need to vomit negativity onto others don’t bother watching this, you’re gonna be really lost and overstimulated,” she wrote, encouraging people to understand her humor before reacting negatively.Fox also shared her fiancé MGK’s reaction to the public perception of their relationship. Rather than being upset by the controversy, MGK found it amusing. Fox recalled him saying, “‘It’s so much cooler that people think we’re this bizarre, ... that we’re doing this kind of magical weird s--- in our basement.’” She added that MGK was more interested in letting people imagine their relationship in mysterious, exaggerated ways.In addition to discussing the blood-drinking ritual, Fox also commented on MGK’s new dramatic blackout tattoo, which she called “really elegant” and suggested could become a trend. "I think in 10 years it'll be a trend," she said. Fox explained that MGK had wanted to remove certain tattoos that no longer held positive emotional meaning for him. “It’s like an elevated version of all those tattoos that were pieced together,” she added.Despite the public scrutiny, Fox and MGK remain comfortable with their unique bond and continue to embrace the attention, unbothered by outside judgment.Featured image credit: Lester Cohen / Getty
