Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's waxworks at Madame Tussauds London have been relocated from the royal area to the celebrity zone.

The change is symbolic of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's decision to step down as senior royals at the start of last year. Since then, the pair have relocated to Montecito, California, rubbing shoulders with the who's who of Hollywood.

News of the relocation of the duo's wax doubles was confirmed in a press release, in which Madame Tussauds said:

"Harry and Meghan have moved zones - Madame Tussauds London has moved its figures of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to their brand new Awards Party zone to reflect their move from Frogmore to Hollywood."

As Covid-19 restrictions begin to ease in the UK, the waxwork museum will be reopening on May 17, showcasing some new changes - not least of all, the addition of Meghan and Harry in the A-list zone.

Madame Tussauds' General Manager Tim Waters said ahead of the reopening later this month: "We cannot wait to open our doors to guests again from May 17 and get back to what we do best.

"We’ll be unveiling a host of exciting changes to the attraction and welcoming some new famous faces to our star-studded line-up that will help bring back the glamor and excitement that London has been craving, all in the safest way possible."

With the change in zones, comes a new outfit for the former Suits actress. While her wax figure originally donned a navy green dress, it is now dressed in a blue frock.

Meghan's husband, on the other hand, has retained his original outfit for the most part - but with the addition of a light blue tie to match his wife's new outfit.

The new dress is a nod to the one she wore in loved-up photos of her and Prince Harry while on their way to an event at Mansion House in London last year.

The pair currently live in a $14.6 million mansion in Montecito with their two-year-old son Archie. They await the arrival of their baby girl later this year.
