On July 2, it was announced that Heslin - perhaps best known to fans for his role in Special Ops: Lioness, as well as The Holiday Proposal Plan - tragically passed away after an "unexpected cardiac event" and a "week-long battle in the hospital."

The actor and producer's husband, known professionally as Scotty Dynamo, took to social media to celebrate what a wonderful person his "soulmate" was in a touching tribute.

"My husband, best friend, and soulmate @mikeheslin passed away from an unexpected cardiac event after a week-long battle in the hospital," he wrote in the caption alongside a handful of snaps of the star throughout his life.

He added: "Michael was young, in perfect health, and the doctors have no explanation for what happened."

"Michael was brilliant, selfless, talented, and a real-life guardian angel," he continued. "He single-handedly carried me through multiple rounds of cancer. He was the first person everyone would call to share good news with, and he was the perfect person to call if they needed a shoulder to lean on or the best advice."

Dynamo went on to describe his late husband as "the sweetest, most caring, and loving man on earth," adding that "he brought out the absolute best in everyone who had the pleasure to cross paths with him."

He moved through life with such ease and confidence, and turned everyone around him into a better version of themselves," he wrote in the heartbreaking post. "No matter how difficult things got, we knew that there was nothing we couldn’t overcome with Mike in our corner."

The star then addressed his loved one directly.

"Michael, meeting you was the best thing to ever happen to me. You are my world. You are everything to me," he wrote. "When I felt you take your last breath, my heart shattered into a million pieces. If I had the power to trade places with you, I would do it in an instant.

"But I will take it one day at a time like you always told me to, and live every day in your honor."

The emotion was evident as he went on to reveal that the pair were "in the early stages of starting a family" as they planned on expanding their relationship to welcome children in the future.

"You always told me that you felt like you were meant to be a dad, and I couldn’t agree more. You would be the world’s most perfect father. If I ever become a dad, I am going to name my son after you and hope that I manage to raise him to become at least half the man you are."

"You were the most generous and giving person," he continued. "It brings me peace to know that, through your wish to be a donor, you have given the gift of life to four different families."

Dynamo also went on to add that Heslin was only a few weeks away from celebrating his 31st birthday as well as the pair's one year wedding anniversary before concluding: "Michael, in the words of Shania Twain: I’ll love you 'forever and for always.'"

"I am so sorry. Between your cancer journey and Mike’s sudden passing, you’ve been through an unbelievable amount of health misfortune for such a young age. Wishing you strength," wrote one friend, while another added: "I can’t believe this. Mike was so sweet, I just spoke with him a few weeks ago. I am in total shock. I am sending you my deepest condolences."

A third also commented under the post with: "There's no words to describe the pain and sadness! Mike you will be missed in our hearts and always remembered. A true angel that left us too soon."
