We all love it when iconic stars - who rose to international stardom in a beloved film or TV series - reunite years, even decades, later. Their role in said film or TV series means a lot to us as an audience, and so it warms our collective hearts to know that it means just as much to them.
And as far as iconic movies go, few have entertained viewers over a sustained period of time as much as the Back to the Future franchise.
Relive the trailer for the very first Back to the Future movie, released all the way back in 1985:

So when the stars of the franchise reunited on Wednesday, fans were more than a little pleased. Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, who played Marty McFly and 'Doc' Emmett Brown, came together for good cause nearly 35 years after the first movie came out.
Posting a picture of himself and Fox on Instagram, Lloyd, 81, explained in the caption that they had attended a poker night in support of The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
“Going 88mph for the @michaeljfoxorg Poker Night!” he wrote.

Fox also posted a pic of the pair, captioning it: "All in with @mrchristopherlloyd at @michaeljfoxorg Poker Night!"
The Michael J. Fox Foundation was set up with the aim of finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease, which Fox was diagnosed with in 1991, at the age of 29.
He first spoke about his diagnosis publically in 1998, which is when he launched the charity, according to The Evening Standard.
In any case, fans were thrilled about the reunion, with one writing: "This picture made my day. Thank you gentlemen."
"This photo makes me so happy," wrote another. "I love when you two get together. the dynamic duo," a third added.
