It seems as though, even months after their split, the drama between Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth is ongoing.

The pair first met while filming the musical rom-com The Last Song in 2009, and were on-again-off-again for several years before getting married in a private ceremony this time last year.

However, after being married for just eight months, the couple decided to divorce after Miley was caught kissing actress, Kaitlynn Carter, while vacationing in Italy with friends.

Now Miley Cyrus has lampooned her former marriage to Liam after an Instagram-user professed their love for her.

When the Instagram account The Most Famous Artist (run by Matty Mo) posted an image in which they professed their wish to marry Miley in 2020, Miley took to the comments to reply: "It probably won't last long ? But always down to try. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. [sic]"

In a recent Instagram post, Miley called Liam a "horrible person":

Miley's comments seem to contradict those made by Liam earlier this year, when the Australian actor wrote in an Instagram post: "Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. [sic]"

He added: "This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love [sic]."

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the couple at the time told People: "Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers."

They added: "They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."
