Miley Cyrus has addressed the wardrobe malfunction that occurred during her New Year's Eve performance.
The 29-year-old singer expertly dealt with the malfunctioning silver top as she was performing 'Party In The USA' at NBC's special New Year's telecast.
While performing the fan-favorite, Cyrus' top appeared to break and start to fall from her torso, leading to the singer being forced to clutch it to her chest. Then, as she continued to sing, Cyrus turned her back to the crowd, threw the garment to the floor and walked off stage.
When she returned, she was wearing an oversized red blazer that was originally paired with another outfit. Nevertheless, she looked amazing!
And although many of us would have been left mortified if we were in the same situation, Cyrus was quick to joke about her mishap after returning to the stage. Altering the song's lyrics, she joked: "Everyone’s definitely looking at me now."
She then quipped: "I’m still in the most clothes that I’ve ever worn on stage."
Now, Cyrus has addressed the incident for the first time, sharing snaps of the silver top to Instagram. She jokingly captioned the pic for her 157 million followers: "Get a good look at the top that didn’t stay on very long…"
After sharing the stunning pics on January 2, the tongue-in-cheek post has already amassed over 2.2 million 'likes'.
Needless to say, Miley's nonchalant way of dealing with what could have been a humiliating situation quickly led to viewers taking to social media to praise the star, with many calling her a "pro".
One Twitter user wrote: "May we all go into 2022 with the same poise, quick-wit, & “eh, s**t happens” attitude as Miley Cyrus after that wardrobe malfunction. That ABSOLUTE CHAMP caught her top, sashayed offstage, came back on asap to finish her set—AND *owned* it all with a couple of jokes. What a pro!"
Another viewer gushed: "@MileyCyrus’s TOP!!! She’s such a pro."
Elsewhere on Instagram, Miley also shared a video of her performance of 'Jolene' from New Year's Eve, which she sang alongside her little sister, 21-year-old Noah Cyrus.
Tagging her sister in the post, Miley also paid tribute to Dolly Parton's legendary track by referencing the lyrics in the caption: "Your smile is like a breath of spring, your voice is soft like summer rain!"
