Miley Cyrus has opened up about her sexuality in a candid new podcast.

The 27-year-old, who just dropped a self-directed music video for her new song, Midnight Sky, appeared on the popular Call Her Daddy podcast with Alexandra Cooper.

During the conversation, the Wrecking Ball singer revealed that her first sexual encounter was a threesome with two friends before she lost her virginity to her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth.

"I didn’t go all the way with a dude until I was 16… But I ended up marrying the guy, so that's pretty crazy," she said in the candid discussion. Miley then revealed that she lied to Liam, and said that it wasn't her first time.

"I lied and said he wasn't the first, so I didn't seem like a loser," she said, adding that chose to lose her virginity to him because of their friendship. "It was a lie that I held on to for like 10 years."

"The first time I ever hooked up with anyone was with a girl, two of them," she continued, saying that they went beyond "first base";

"When I was 11 or 12 my friends were starting to tell me what they were doing with guys and I didn't really understand it. So, I got most of my girlfriends to hook up with me. I was attracted to girls way before I was ever attracted to guys."

Miley then touched on her ten-year on-and-off relationship with her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, whom she married in December of 2018. The pair split in August of last year.

"The relationship I had for 10 years was an amazing time in my life," she told Alexandra. After her divorce, Miley had a short-lived relationship with Kaitlynn Carter, which was heavily scrutinised in the press, and she said in the interview that she struggled with the fact that the media portrayed her as a cheat.

"I feel like as a woman I was villainised for moving on and I really feel like that isn't acceptable, she stated.
