It's a sad fact that, on social media, women have their appearance criticized and disparaged constantly. Even celebrities and models aren't immune to this kind of cruel treatment. In fact, it seems as though, the more glamourous you look and the more followers you boast, the more open you are to being attacked.
For instance, this week a former Miss Universe winner from Australia shared an image of a cruel comment she received from a troll, who had taunted her over a poolside bikini snap.
The pic in question shows her sitting by the pool while on holiday, wearing a pair of round sunglasses, a sun hat, and a white two-piece bikini. She captioned her pic: "Poolside in Perth with all the essentials. Sunscreen, hat, sunnies & rose (ft. some blotchy fake tan). [sic]"
Olivia Molly Rogers, who was named Miss Universe Australia back in 2017, took to her Instagram Stories to share the offending comment with her 140,000 followers. The remark read: "You're too fat to be on Instagram. You should take this down it's embarrassing."

An appalled Rogers captioned the screenshot of the comment, and shared her own reaction, which read: "I am a size 8 which usually is irrelevant to the conversation."
She added: "But if I am being called fat as a size 8, imagine your size 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 woman and the comments they receive. It is absolutely disgusting and disgraceful. Right now I don't even have the right words to describe how I feel. [sic]"
A number of Rogers' followers rushed to her defense upon seeing how the troll had slated her, and the comments sections of her Instagram account were soon inundated with messages of support and love.

For instance, one person going by the handle @esh_kay wrote: "What could one possibly have to say negatively about your body!? You're fit and healthy and absolutely stunning! [sic]"
Meanwhile, someone else wrote: "Girl, you have the best body! What the heck could someone even say? Gorgeous!!!" and another person added: "F*ck that negativity babe!!! You’re absolutely epic ❤️❤️❤️ if they’ve got time to troll on the gram, then they have time to work on themselves and their shit chat. Get it girl xxx [sic]"
Rogers later posted another video of herself at the beach, and thanked all her supporters for their kind words. She captioned the clip: "After a nasty little troll said some awful things about my body, literally hundreds of you messaged me with the kindest, most beautiful words."
She added: "I am so grateful for every single one of you. It was the best thing to be reminded that for one nasty human there are SO many amazing humans & I am so thankful that I have that kind of support. F*** the haters!!! ???? [sic]"
