Demi Rose has hit back at trolls who criticised her runway walk by revealing she was mourning the death of her mother in a heartwarming post to social media.

Demi responded to the critics on Wednesday after a video resurfaced on Twitter of Rose walking the runway at the Oh Polly fashion show at Miami Fashion Week in July. Soon enough, comments slamming her strut down the catwalk came flooding in.

People were quick to take to Twitter to criticize the model for her technique:

The British model's mom Christine passed away just a month before the Oh Polly swimwear show in Miami and Demi was hoping to make both her, and her late father, Barrie, proud.

Taking to Twitter, the 24-year-old wrote:

"All jokes aside yes I’m not the best runway model. I was super nervous, didn’t want to do it, my top went missing backstage, my shoes were too big for me in height and size not to mention I was dealing with personal issues loosing my parents, my mom a month before [sic]"

In a follow-up tweet, Demi said that she was proud of herself in spite of the cruel comments she received following the catwalk strut.

"I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone, make them and myself proud and that takes a lot of bravery, so for that I’m proud of myself because there’s a lot that wouldn’t have done it. But it’s done now. I can laugh too but I’m still here and it’s all Gucccci!" she wrote.

The brunette beauty then goes on to express her gratitude for opportunities she has been given in the modeling world, writing: "In hindsight it was a really fun experience, showcasing my own collection which I was really proud of. I’m really grateful for all the opportunities I’ve got given. Thank you to those who support me!"
