Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has become YouTube royalty by giving away life-changing sums of money in wildly viral challenges.

From having friends do stunts for stacks of cash to featuring celebrities and fellow creators, his videos routinely top the trending charts — and rack up insane production costs.

Speaking on Steven Bartlett’s A Diary of a CEO podcast, MrBeast revealed a surprising detail when asked if he’s reached the billionaire milestone.

“On paper? Yeah, but in my actual bank account, I have less than a million dollars,” he told Bartlett.

Even with a jaw-dropping valuation and massive influence, MrBeast’s approach to money is all about reinvestment.

And it’s that mindset that has him temporarily tapping into the Bank of Mom for his upcoming wedding to fiancée Thea Booysen.

When Dexerto shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) calling him “the only billionaire under 30 to have not inherited his wealth,” MrBeast responded with a humble, and slightly hilarious, confession.

“I personally have very little money because I reinvest everything (I think this year we’ll spend around a quarter of a billion on content),” he wrote.

“Ironically, I’m actually borrowing $ from my mom to pay for my upcoming wedding lol. But sure, on paper the businesses I own are worth a lot.”

While some might cringe at spending their entire fortune on YouTube videos, MrBeast is playing the long game.

He admitted to losing “tens of millions” trying to bring his ambitious Beast Games series to life for Amazon Prime.

But he’s not calling it a loss—he sees it as an investment. MrBeast is now planning to raise “hundreds of millions” in funding to continue scaling his growing business empire.

According to Bloomberg, as reported by Dexerto, MrBeast’s total valuation clocks in at around $5 billion.

One of MrBeast's most recent videos was his own "Beast Games", which promised that the winner would receive $10 million.

Jeffrey Randall Allen, now known to millions as Player 831, took the top spot on the massive Amazon Prime reality series created by MrBeast.

The show gathered 1,000 contestants from all walks of life to battle it out in a Squid Game-inspired spectacle for an eye-watering prize.

After outlasting 999 other hopefuls, including fellow finalist Twana Barnett, Allen walked away with the $10 million prize. But while the number is staggering, it didn’t come tax-free.

Speaking on The Iced Coffee Hour podcast, Allen revealed: “I literally got $10 million wired to me. So, it's up to me to do state taxes.”

And that’s no small task. Allen estimated that without a strategic approach, he could owe around $5 million in taxes.
